Nanette Biers has been a professional freelance illustrator for the past 28 years, after graduating with honors from UC Berkeley with a degree in Fine Art. Her work has been selected for inclusion in several Annual Exhibitions of the New York Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts Illustration Annuals and has received awards from the San Francisco Society of Illustrators and the Graphic Artist's Guild. Her career was profiled in the January/February 2001 issue of Communication Arts magazine.

Her style is a painterly realism done exclusively in oils on canvas. She believes that in her best work, "the line between fine art and illustration is so faint as to be barely visible". She has always derived her greatest inspiration from the European and American Impressionists: Monet, Degas, Sorolla, Sargent, Chase, Homer, Hassam, and Cassatt, to name just a few.

Clients have included Sony, IBM, Dupont, American Express, Bristol Myers, John Deere Credit, Northwest Airlines, Gallo, Opus One Winery, APL Shipping Lines, The M.H. de Young Memorial Museum and Celestial Seasonings. Samples of her work can be viewed on the Internet at morgangaynin.com.
